Twenty-one? Already?

For my birthday on August 20th, Ky took me on a hike to the Kanarraville Falls.  We tried it before the summer with my Mom and little sister, Rozy.  Lets just say that with MUCH lower water levels and a bearable water temperature, it was an AWESOME  hike with BEAUTIFUL slot canyons.  I would recommend it to anyone in the area.  But be prepared to get more than just your feet wet!

We found a little friend who has seen better days!  I was surprised that he just crawled onto my hand.  

 

The wettest waterfall of them all :) this one you have to climb up the water fall using randomly placed logs (slippery when wet...which is all the time) and some repelling ropes that someone kindly bolted into the rock wall.  Prepare to get pretty damp

This is a slide that is smooth from the moss and water.  It looked like a lot of fun and there were quite a few people going down it.  Ky decided to take a try at it, unfortunately.  The poor guy landed right on top of a huge flat rock...with his tail bone.  Needless to say, I drove home. :(

We ran into some guys on our hike back that were carrying bundles of 1" 2x4 pieces.  They said they were bringing them to patch up this ladder.  How nice of them!

All in all (aside from the tailbone catastrophe) an excellent day out with my sweet Hubby :D

Chickens! These were born on July 4th, 2011 :)

These little guys are Kyles pride and joy.  They are almost like his children :)

This is the FIRST egg that our hen 'Herbert' ever layed :)  Ky was so excited that he didn't even shower before we documented the momentous occasion.

This is Herbert, our hen.  We originally thought her to be of the male sorts, but after she laid that first egg our mistake became obvious.  But, you can't just go around changing names, can you? She was born sometime in March or April.

This is 'Bloomers'.  He/She is an 'exotic chick' that they sent for free with our order of chicks.  We think it could possibly be a White Cochin.  Maybe...see below.
